With the lack of accurate information about factors influencing the amount of production and production costs of vegetable crops grown in greenhouses, it is difficult to achieve efficiency and define most important productivity factors affecting the production process. Therefore, this research aimed to identify the different characteristics of cucumber crop in greenhouses, by estimating cost of production; return and production function by using stochastic frontier production function and by identifying its technical efficiency. Results showed that the rate of return to the cost was 4.4 (summer season) and 3.9 (winter season). The factors affecting production of cucumbers in greenhouses included in the model demonstrated positive and significant values, except greenhouse area and seed variety. There is a possibility of increasing productivity of cucumber crop per square meter by about 9.2% (summer season) and 12.3% (winter season). The application of integrated pest management (IPM) increased production by 53% (summer season) and 22.2% (winter season), and reduced control costs by 54.4% and 53.5% in both seasons respectively. It also led to raising technical efficiency from 88.6-91.9% (summer season) and from 87.2-88.2% (winter season), indicating, thus, possibility of increasing production, reducing control costs and raising production efficiency.
