Ali F.S.Fartoot, Saleh M.S. Al-Shuhirey
Summary

This trial was carried out at farmer's fields to verify the results of previous research trials were carried out at the experimental farm of Al-Kod Research Station. Two fields in Batais and one at al- kod were chose, the Complete Randomized Blocks Design was used (6Replicates x 3 Locations x 2 Treatments). The treatments were: 1. Seed Planter MF401 2. Farmers Method . The three locations of the trial were sowed with groundnut (Ashford Varity) which sowed in the Abyan delta. The average of machines productivity was 0.67 hectare/hour for the Seed Planter MF401 & 0.66 hectare/hour fore the Tine Tiller with seed-pipes (farmer's method). There was no LSD on the level of 5% between the treatments on the productivity of machines but it was LSD on the yield of groundnut. The economic evaluation shows that the lowest cost of sowing operation and the highest income were by using the seed planter MF 401. To conclude, the MF401 is the best machine for sowing the groundnut.
