This study was conducted in Central highlands research station during summer season 2004 to obtain best method for Maize threshing suitable for small land-holdings farmers that is of high performance and lower cost. Three types of machines were used; A manual Italian made machine (OMMO), a Japanese-made with engine and a locally improved and produced Engine-run Machine called Bohoth-2003. The check treatment(s) were two traditional threshing methods namely; a common manual threshing methods using wood stick called (labeege) and another threshing method using Tractor. Two Maize varieties were used in the study "Taiz-2" and "Taiz-3". Results showed that Bohoth-2003 Machine was the best threshing 799Kg/hour, followed by Tractor method (491 Kg/hour), manual machine (284 Kg/hour) as compared to Hand method (Labeege) (98 Kg/hour).
