Food production is one of the main challenges facing Yemen. Therefore, this study aimed to find out the development of local production of food items such as grain, fruits, and vegetables, fish, eggs and meet. Local and international secondary statistics and other published studies and research related to this study were used to investigate food production trends during the period 1994 – 2003 on bases of which prediction of the same has been made up to the year 2010. Results of study indicate that production and individual share of grain will decrease, while vegetable production will increase. But, production and individual share of fruits, fish, eggs and meet is expected to arise by the year 2010
