This study aimed at exploring and analyzing varied existing forms of relationships between agricultural research and education institutions as well as potentials for future improvement. Results revealed that some researchers serve as either part or full-time teaching staff in agricultural faculties and highlighted the growing role of agriculture faculties in qualifying research staff . It identified presence of numerous joint endeavors involving research-education staff, most important of which are the mutual contribution towards human resources development process for the agricultural sector ; execution of some farm research technical programs, preservation of research-educat ion institutional linkages, preparation of national documents relating to agricultural policies and strategies , supervision of academic research projects pertaining to higher education students , organization of summer training and publishing scientific research information. Based on lessons learnt, the study offered some recommendations to strengthen relationships between agricultural research and educational institutions and staff for the service of scientific research and development efforts in the country .
