Most of the local Pea variety grown in Yemen are early maturing ,small seeded ,low yielding and susceptible for powdery mildew. The study was conducted in Agricultural Research Extension Authority, Northern Highlands Sana’a Yemen in winter and summer seasons of 2022. Pea Genotype was used in this study and it's dry seeds were subjected to different doses of gamma-rays 150, 200 and 250 Gry and planted to obtain (M1) generation in 22 /1/2022 and (M2) planted in 29/7/2022 summer season. 56 individual mutant plants were selected and should be grown in three replications as primary experiment to evaluate the mutants and the promising lines were selected. The result indicated that, the germination percentage of the treated seeds using Gamma-rays, shown a negative relation with treatments, which decreased with increase in the dose of mutagenic treatments compared with the untreated (control). Also, mutagenic treatment had stimulatory effect on plant height at 150 Gry of gamma-rays. Results also revealed that, two types of chlorophyll mutants were observed in leaves at flowering stages. The results indicated that significant differences were recorded among the mutants for all characters studied in Pisum mutant groups. Results obtained of the broad sense heritability and Genetic advance were highly for 50% flowering, 100 seed weight and grain yield /plant, indicated that will be an improvement for this characters.
