Summary

One hundred twenty, one-day-old chicks of Rosse hybrid were used to study the effect of fenugreek seeds and Nigella seeds supplement in broiler’s diets on some physiological and production traits. During starter diet, birds were fed with diets containing 70% corn, 20% soybean meal and 10% broiler concentrate. While, at finisher period, diets included 73% corn, 19% Soybean meal and 8% broiler concentrate. Four treatments (T) were used namely; T1, T2 and T3 that had fenugreek supplement (1 kg/diets), Nigella supplement (1 kg/100 kg diet) and a mixed supplement (0.5/kg fenugreek + 0.5 kg Nigella/100 kg diets) in that order. T4 was a control with no supplement. Results showed no significant differences between all treatments in body weight, weight gain and feed efficiency. T2 was significantly (p > 0.05) higher than T1 in weight of carcass and chest. Edible organs (heart + gizzard +liver) percentage increased significantly (P > 0.05) in T1 as compared to T2. No significant effect on physiological traits was found except on blood sugar, which decreased significantly in T1 as compared to T4.
