Summary

Two experiments was carried out in Summer and Winter seasons at the poultry farm, College of Nassir Agricultural Sciences, Aden University. The aim of he experiments was to study the effect of season and density on some productive characteristics of broiler chicks. Two hundred and forty commercial broiler chicks were used in each experiment. The results showed that the season had significant effect on average of body weight, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, dressing percentage, mortality percentage and production of live weight/m2. The averages were 1305.5gm, 2554.10 gm, and 2.014 kg. feed / kg live weight gain, 77.89 % , 14.85 % and 16.63 kg/m2 in summer and 1905.90 gm, 3518.10 gm, 1.892 kg. feed / kg. live weight gain, 78.69 %, 2.30 % and 27.84 kg/m2 in winter respectively , and was significant higher (P ≤0.01) between summer and winter. From the result of study, there was no indication of any significant effect of density per square meter upon body weight, feed intake, feed conversion ratio and mortality percentage. The effect of density was significant upon dressing percentage and production of live weight /m2 it is evident from economic analysis that increase of profit with the increase of density of broiler chicks per square meter for two seasons. Thus, the net profit for each square meter reach 958, 1081.60, 1188.70 and 1516.40 Rial in summer and 1086.5, 1403.6, 1640.6 and 1816.90 Rial in winter for the densities 12, 14, 16 and 18 broiler chicks/ m2 respectively.
